Challenge:
Cubist Pharmaceuticals has a large salesteam that is in constant
need of new corporate identity materials. Cubist came to Ambit to
see if they could streamline their ordering process and save them
money from their previous vendor. Maintaining their brand identity
was a high priority and they asked Ambit to come up with a solution
to monitor their brand guidelines.
Solution: Ambit Clinical Printing automated the procurement process by putting it online. On the site, Cubist personnel can enter personal information such as names and telephone numbers; repeatable information such as addresses and websites are already coded into the site. In seconds, the online ordering site shows visitors how the cards will look. The designs always comply with the Cubist identity and brand standards. An approval manager was designated to monitor orders and cards are printed and shipped within days.
Results: The system’s efficiencies have helped reduce printing costs in three main ways. First the improved communication and better control over specifications and processes reduced rework and design charges. Second, by shortening the production cycle, the automated process has essentially eliminated express shipping and rush charges. And third, by grouping orders Cubist is able to maximize their purchasing power while securing their brand standards across all departments.
